Thursday, 16 November 2023 – City of Busselton is thrilled to announce direct flights from Busselton to Sydney will commence on 26 March 2024.

From May 2023, check-in, bag drop and boarding gate times for Jetstar Airways (JQ) Domestic flights will close earlier. Check-in and bag drop will now close 40 minutes prior to departure. The boarding gate will now close 20 minutes prior to departure.

The City of Busselton has implemented a new Noise Management Plan (2022), which was recently approved by the Office of the Environmental Protection Authority.

The Busselton Margaret River Airport is one of the most important, strategically located airports in regional Western Australia. The airport is strategically positioned only 6.8km from the Busselton city centre, 30 minutes from the City of Bunbury and 45 minute drive from Margaret River with excellent road transport links to Perth.

Busselton Margaret River Airport’s bid to become a designated Alternate International Airport has been successful after its application was approved by the Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities.

Busselton Margaret River Airport received the “Airport Innovation and Excellence Award for Infrastructure Development – Regional Airport” for its airside and landside civil infrastructure project at the 2018 National Australian Airports Association (AAA) Awards held in Brisbane last night. The AAA National Airport Industry Awards celebrate and honour excellence within Australia’s airport industry.
